如 #1031 所述，根據詞典和語料，傳統中文只有「丁當」的用法，近代則偏好用「叮噹」，除了歌手「丁噹」刻意使用該藝名以外，沒有「丁噹」的用法。
故簡轉繁時，「丁当」應轉為「丁當」、「丁噹」二種結果，而「丁丁当当」應轉為「丁丁當當」，「当当丁丁」應轉為「當當丁丁」，「吉丁当」應轉為「吉丁當」。
現代台灣幾乎不使用「丁當」、「丁丁當當」，另外加上詞組自動轉換為更常用的「叮噹」、「叮叮噹噹」。
另外，電影《綁架丁丁當》需要特別處理，否則原來的配置會把簡體誤轉為「綁架丁丁噹」。
