Snyk has created this PR to fix 1 vulnerabilities in the rubygems dependencies of this project.
Snyk changed the following file(s):
GemfileThis upgrade contains multiple high-risk major version jumps, most notably for
actionpackandrack. Theactionpackupgrade from a Rails 2.3-era version to 5.0 is a massive undertaking that requires a multi-stage migration and significant code refactoring. Therackupgrade from 1.x to 2.x also introduces fundamental breaking changes to its core specification.Top Breaking Changes:
actionpack 2.3.8 → 5.0.0 (high): This is an upgrade across three major Rails versions (3, 4, and 5). It is not a direct update and requires a staged migration. [6, 9] Expect complete overhauls of controller APIs, routing, parameter handling (introduction of Strong Parameters), and dependency requirements (e.g., Rails 5 requires Ruby 2.2.2+). [7] A full application rewrite or a careful, version-by-version upgrade is necessary. [3, 5]
rack 1.1.0 → 2.2.20 (high): The upgrade to 2.x breaks the core Rack specification. [1]
Highlights:
#callinstead of#each. Middleware must be updated to handle this change.rack.hijack_iois removed. [1]Recommendation: Audit all middleware and direct Rack API interactions for compliance with the 2.x specification. Merge after a thorough review.
Other Upgrades: The remaining upgrades,
merb1.1.0 → 1.1.1 (low) andrack-cache0.5.2 → 0.5.3 (low), are patch versions and are unlikely to contain breaking changes.Vulnerabilities that will be fixed with an upgrade:
