Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using Bitrequest. By accessing or using Bitrequest, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Bitrequest.


1. Definitions

"Bitrequest" refers to:

"Application," "App," "Webapp," "Software" — All refer to the Bitrequest application in any form.

"User," "You," "Your" — Any individual or entity accessing or using Bitrequest.

"Developer," "We," "Us," "Our" — The creators and maintainers of Bitrequest.

"Cryptocurrency," "Crypto," "Digital Assets" — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero, Kaspa, and any other digital currencies supported by Bitrequest.

"Funds" — Any cryptocurrency or digital assets referenced, monitored, or transacted through addresses entered in Bitrequest.


2. Nature of Service

2.1 Non-Custodial Software

Bitrequest is non-custodial software. This means:

  • Bitrequest does not hold, store, or have access to your funds
  • Bitrequest does not have access to your private keys
  • Bitrequest does not execute, process, or transmit transactions on your behalf
  • Bitrequest cannot reverse, cancel, or modify any blockchain transaction

2.2 Monitoring Tool Only

Bitrequest is a monitoring and payment request tool. It:

  • Generates payment request information (addresses, amounts, QR codes)
  • Monitors blockchain addresses for incoming transactions
  • Displays transaction status from public blockchain data

2.3 No Money Transmission

Bitrequest is not a money transmitter, payment processor, bank, or financial institution. We do not:

  • Hold or transmit funds
  • Convert currencies
  • Provide exchange services
  • Custody any assets

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Verification of Addresses

You are solely responsible for:

  • Verifying the accuracy of all cryptocurrency addresses entered
  • Ensuring addresses belong to wallets you control
  • Confirming addresses before sharing payment requests

3.2 Security

You are solely responsible for:

  • Securing your device and application data
  • Protecting your BIP39 seed phrases, private keys, and view keys
  • Maintaining secure backups of your data
  • Setting appropriate PIN protection
  • Safeguarding access credentials for connected nodes

3.3 Compliance

You are solely responsible for:

  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Determining the legality of using cryptocurrency in your location
  • Meeting any tax obligations related to cryptocurrency transactions
  • Ensuring your use of Bitrequest does not violate any laws

4. Assumption of Risk

4.1 Cryptocurrency Risks

By using Bitrequest, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile and values can fluctuate dramatically
  • Blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed
  • Sending funds to incorrect addresses may result in permanent loss
  • Cryptocurrencies may be subject to regulatory changes that affect their value or legality
  • Technical vulnerabilities in blockchain networks may result in loss of funds

4.2 Software Risks

By using Bitrequest, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Software may contain bugs, errors, or vulnerabilities
  • Third-party APIs and services may fail, be unavailable, or provide incorrect data
  • Exchange rates displayed may be delayed, inaccurate, or differ from actual market rates
  • WebSocket connections and polling may fail to detect transactions
  • Zero-confirmation transactions carry risk of double-spending

4.3 Node and API Risks

By using Bitrequest, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Public APIs and block explorers may be unavailable or return incorrect data
  • Personal nodes may be misconfigured or compromised
  • Lightning Network payments may fail due to routing issues or liquidity
  • Third-party services (URL shorteners, backup providers) may change or discontinue

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

5.1 "As Is" Provision

BITREQUEST IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF INFORMATION
  • AVAILABILITY OR UNINTERRUPTED ACCESS

5.2 No Guarantee

WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT:

  • The software will meet your requirements
  • The software will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • Results obtained from using the software will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the software will be corrected
  • Exchange rates or transaction data will be accurate

6. Limitation of Liability

6.1 No Liability for Damages

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or funds
  • Business interruption
  • Loss of goodwill or reputation
  • Any other damages arising from:
    • Your use or inability to use Bitrequest
    • Unauthorized access to your data or transmissions
    • Statements or conduct of any third party
    • Incorrect, delayed, or failed transaction detection
    • Inaccurate exchange rates or conversion calculations
    • Bugs, viruses, or other harmful components
    • Any other matter relating to Bitrequest

6.2 Jurisdictional Limitations

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CERTAIN DAMAGES. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

6.3 Maximum Liability

IN ANY CASE, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES, LOSSES, AND CAUSES OF ACTION SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE BITREQUEST (WHICH IS ZERO, AS BITREQUEST IS FREE SOFTWARE).


7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Developer, contributors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of Bitrequest
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any dispute between you and any third party regarding cryptocurrency transactions
  • Any claim that your use of Bitrequest caused damage to a third party

8. Third-Party Services

8.1 External APIs and Services

Bitrequest integrates with third-party services including but not limited to:

  • Exchange rate providers (CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, CoinPaprika, Fixer, etc.)
  • Block explorers (BlockCypher, mempool.space, Etherscan, etc.)
  • URL shorteners (Bitly)
  • Cloud services (Google Drive)
  • Node services (Infura, Alchemy)

8.2 No Responsibility

We are not responsible for:

  • The availability, accuracy, or reliability of third-party services
  • Changes to third-party service terms or APIs
  • Data breaches or security incidents at third-party services
  • Any damages resulting from third-party service failures

8.3 Third-Party Terms

Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.


9. Open Source License

9.1 License

Bitrequest is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0).

9.2 Source Code

The complete source code is available at:

9.3 License Terms

Under the AGPL-3.0:

  • You may use, copy, modify, and distribute the software
  • Modified versions must also be released under AGPL-3.0
  • Network use constitutes distribution (source must be made available)
  • No warranty is provided (see Section 5)

10. Modifications to Terms

10.1 Right to Modify

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the repository or application.

10.2 Continued Use

Your continued use of Bitrequest after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10.3 Review

You are responsible for reviewing these Terms periodically for changes.


11. Termination

11.1 Your Right to Terminate

You may stop using Bitrequest at any time by uninstalling the application and deleting your data.

11.2 Survival

Sections 4 (Assumption of Risk), 5 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 6 (Limitation of Liability), 7 (Indemnification), and 12 (Governing Law) shall survive any termination.


12. Governing Law and Disputes

12.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Bitrequest shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

12.3 Waiver of Class Action

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION AGAINST THE DEVELOPER.


13. General Provisions

13.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding Bitrequest and supersede all prior agreements.

13.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.

13.3 No Waiver

Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

13.4 Assignment

You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.


14. No Financial Advice

Bitrequest does not provide:

  • Financial advice
  • Investment advice
  • Tax advice
  • Legal advice

Any information displayed in Bitrequest (including exchange rates, transaction values, or fiat equivalents) is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for financial decisions. Consult qualified professionals for financial, tax, or legal matters.
