I have two related customizations in my vimrc. The first is to prevent mapping ToggleBG on F5 before I map it to F4:

" Hack to avoid first calling togglebg#map on <F5>
let g:no_plugin_maps=1
call togglebg#map("<F4>")
unlet g:no_plugin_maps

Committing a change just to suit my preference felt petty. It's a bug that calling togglebg#map will cause the mapping to be done via autoload. That should be cleaned up.

Secondly, fix up some colors that I found jarring:

aug solarized_customizations
    " Make the gutters less jarring
    au!
    au ColorScheme * :hi! link SignColumn LineNr
    au ColorScheme * :hi! link CursorLineNr FoldColumn
aug END

Again, these are just my preferences, so I kept them out of the code.
