This PR is the new baseline for our docs. There are some small nits, but instead of holding up the PR (and further complicate the other PR rebases) we can deal with nits in subsequent PRs. |

This isn't ready, but I am opening this PR to show the progress. It will most likely be easiest to review commit-by-commit.✅ (Done!) I realized that it shouldn't be THAT painful to add aliases so that we break less existing links. I will try.
