- Genre: 2D top down, singleplayer, simulator, roguelike
- Description: You are a pilot of a spaceship, your main goal is to rescue the - astronauts. To do this, you will have to control your spaceship, watch its weight, avoid obstacles and dangers in space, search resources and upgrade your ship.
The game was developed as part of the 2D Game Jam - 2024 with the theme "Momentum". Therefore, the core feature of the game is the physical interaction of objects in space. Inertia and efficient resource management are the player's primary tools. The player must control the spaceship, collect and take away various items, monitor health, fuel level, inventory capacity. The player must also watch the mass of the ship, as it affects the control.
The main game for inspiration is "Kerbal Space Program" of course. A little bit humorous 3D simulator perfectly represents the atmosphere and gaming experience I want to give (but only with simpler controls).
After I started development, I discovered Jitter, which I really liked. And I think that my vision of “Catastrophe” and this game have common points, such as: 2D space simulator, pixel graphics, beautiful damage system.
