What's New in v1.0.10

  • Switched to folder-based portable build for faster startup time
  • Improved installer packaging

Download & Installation

Windows - Installer (Recommended)

  1. Download PDF_Extractor_Setup_1.0.10.exe
  2. Run the installer
  3. If Windows SmartScreen appears: Click "More info""Run anyway"
  4. Follow the setup wizard
  5. Launch PDF Extractor from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut

Windows - Portable Version

No installation required - runs from any folder or USB drive.

  1. Download PDF_Extractor_Portable.zip
  2. Extract the zip to any folder (e.g., C:\Apps\PDF Extractor\)
  3. Double-click PDF Extractor.exe to run
  4. If Windows SmartScreen appears: Click "More info""Run anyway"

Important: Keep the _internal folder in the same location as PDF Extractor.exe - the application needs it to run.

macOS

  1. Download the appropriate DMG for your Mac:
    • Intel Macs: PDF_Extractor_macOS.dmg
    • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4): PDF_Extractor_macOS_ARM.dmg
  2. Open the DMG file
  3. Drag PDF Extractor to your Applications folder
  4. Launch from Applications or Spotlight

If you see "App is damaged" warning, run: xattr -cr "/Applications/PDF Extractor.app"

Windows SmartScreen Warning

You may see a "Windows protected your PC" warning because the app is not code-signed with a certificate. This is normal for open-source software. Click "More info" then "Run anyway" to proceed safely.

First Run

On first launch, the app will download AI models (~300MB). This only happens once and requires an internet connection.
