Description
This PR rebases #780 on top of the most recent
masterbranch. We have tested this branch in production at @soundcloud and it works well for us.All the credit on this belongs to @Gonlo2. I just made sure this works with the most recent gh-ost version.
script/cibuildreturns with no formatting errors, build errors or unit test errors.
