Fibra is a part of a larger toolset for scholars to support a full range of activities in data-driven scholarship. These activities are depicted in the diagram below where Fibra fits into Research:Reading/Writing.

##Interactivity and Experience

There are three parts to the Fibra interface: the schema editor; the drawing space; the formatted data view.

###Drawing Drawing is based on a simple graph model. Most important to the experience is to give the feeling of drawing. Actions and interactions must be deliberate, weighted, and thoughtful.
There is a limited palette of link types made available to the researcher. These are not prescriptive; they can be used as desired.

##Organization and Categorization
The actions on the nodes allow for grouping, tagging and marking as well as spatial arrangement. Tags and categories should be able to be applied loosely and later formalized via the schema document.
