Optimization:

  • Replaced malloc in drawstatusbar with a stack buffer of 1024 bytes.
  • Removed free call.
  • Added explicit size check to prevent buffer overflow.

Why:

  • drawstatusbar is called frequently (on every status update or redraw).
  • The status text stext is globally defined as 1024 bytes.
  • Heap allocation for such small, bounded buffers is unnecessary overhead.

Verification:

  • make clean && make passes.
  • Code logic verified to handle string copying safely.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 7361739249298390308 started by @paperbenni

Replaces dynamic `malloc` allocation with a fixed-size stack buffer in `drawstatusbar`.
The buffer size is set to 1024 to match the global `stext` definition in `instantwm.c`.
This optimization reduces heap allocation overhead in the frequent drawing path.
Also fixes a potential stack buffer overflow by clamping `len`.
