Switching to writing team |

@alisha791 Also, I am not sure you need an entire writing group from the curators, just one or two people to document your portion of the entire project and make a single document that explains all necessary steps to be a reproducible curation process. This shouldn't last as a task much longer than a few hours. Analyzers and visualizers will do this as well in the compilation stages and most likely be finalized in its entirety by the presenters. Curators are more needed to explain and help with any roadblocks analyzers and visualizers are struggling with. I'd suggest adding Sherry, Theresa, and Jie to the $, Q, & ❤ visualizer groups as there is a need there. Here is the current list of people / groups reassigned to:
Here is the most effective way of separating curators we think:

My understanding was that the visualizers need most of their information from the analyzers and I feel like I'll be able to contribute more to the writing team which was a big part of what we discussed today. I'll stay in the heart group for now since I see that I am the only one currently assigned to them. |

We talked to the Q group and also with Aaron and the result was that the Q group is comfortable with their group because they have plenty of Computer Science majors. We discussed with Aaron that the paper and public understanding can be a task of the curators because it is "curating" the process. Are any presenters currently working on this issue? I will affiliate myself with the Q group as you suggested and I will be their point of contact for any questions they may have regarding data curation. For the sake of contributing something useful to the final project, I think my skill set will be best utilized in this paper subgroup. |

@tandrasfay, I agree that data curation should be part of the paper and I can see why you should be part of the writing team based on all the work you have done towards data curation. However, if you recall what @aculich said in class today, we are not expecting a paper on Dec. 12 but an ipynb. I totally hear what @lauraccunningham is saying. The data curation is basically done, but we have only roughly a month until Dec.12. The Analyzers and Visualizers definitely need our help at this point. We might not able to help a lot because of our computing skills. However, we all have certain skills that we can contribute to them, such as taking notes, summarizing things the groups have done, organizing meeting and a lot of other things. The Analyzers and Visualizers are all learning things from scratch as well. Also, if you would like to contribute to the writing team later, you should be familiar with what other groups are doing. By participating in other groups, you can contribute and learn a lot. @lauraccunningham, I also think the presenters from the curation teams should join the Analyzers and Visualizers teams. Data curation is basically done, if we want to contribute towards this project(which is the major part of this class), we should join the other teams. I have been participating on the data curation process for the ETAS and SAPP packages. I would like to join Analyzers subgroup 2 @lauraccunningham or Visualizers subgroup Q @carlshan. Thanks. |
