### Subgroups and dynamic coloring

Micro added recently the functionality to define the colors for the syntax highlighting in the colorscheme files.

Please note, that not all highlighting files are using that right now, see a list of the supporting languages [here](https://github.com/zyedidia/micro/tree/master/runtime/syntax#using-with-colorschemes).

You implement this functionality via subgroups. In the following, you can see how to implement these subgroups and the according files.

In addition to the main colorscheme groups, there are subgroups that you can
specify by adding `.subgroup` to the group. If you're creating your own custom
syntax files, you can make use of your own subgroups.
