This PR is a follow-up from PR #2 which added user authentication with 890ed98. Unfortunately, we later realized that the naming was wrong and and @aseigo fixed this as part of PR #11 with commit 440ed18.
This PR tries, together with PR #25, to bring PR #11 back to a level where we can see something in the diff. We thus pull the rename
users->userout of PR #11 and merge it separately.
